The inmates are now running the asylum.
The Drumpfmentum (or perhaps we ought to call it Hurricane Donald, as he's about as welcome as one) has smashed through another dreary day of primaries - the Donald has taken Florida, Illinois and North Carolina, and is neck-and-neck with Ted 'Is This Really The Best Opposition The GOP Have' Cruz in Missouri. Kasich won Ohio, which means he's finally sort of relevant to the campaign, while Marco Rubio has finally run aground, failing to pick up more than a paltry five delegates. He's suspended his campaign, and I think the last lingering hope for sanity within the GOP has died with him.
On the Democratic front, Hillary is the clear winner, but the Bern has made a strong showing despite this. They're neck and neck in Missouri at the moment (what is with you guys, Missouri? Why are you so indecisive today? Did you most famous resident not once declare that 'the buck stops here?' BE DECISIVE) and Bernie has done quite well in Illinois (I'd bet money Chicago is probably the reason for that) and Ohio. As for NC and Florida, well, they're Southern states, and Southern Dems are solidly Clinton, so no surprises there. So I reckon Sanders is going to hang on into April, at least until primaries are conducted in more liberal areas like Washington and New York.
This election has seen a lot of very hawkish rhetoric - be it about wars, bombs or still being bummed about Obamacare - so I'd like to make today's speech one about the opposite - willingness to work together, to co-exist peacefully. So I'll just hand over to a gentleman with infinitely more integrity than either Trump or Cruz. What's that ancient Vulcan proverb again?

It is no longer possible to force the Dardanelles . . . Nobody would expose a modern fleet to such perils. - Winston Churchill, 1911. I went up on the top and I heard a voice, ‘Get down! Get down!’ And he had a brassard on, so I got down, it was a captain with his batman. I said, ‘Shall I send stretcher bearers for you?’ He said, ‘No,’ he said, ‘I’m alright but,’ he said, ‘for heaven’s sake don’t stick your head up, or you won’t have one left!’ - Richard Yorston As we topped the rise we came under pretty heavy fire. One of my platoon was killed beside me; a couple of yards further on Captain Aneer from another company was killed. And as we crossed the plateau quite a number of others went down – you could see them falling in the just getting full light. - Hedley Howe Men, I am not ordering you to attack. I am ordering you to die. In the time that it takes us to die, other forces and commanders can come and take our place. - Mustafa Kemal The Long, Long Trail An
Chess YCH
I forgot to share this, but I'm doing a YCH! Closes in two days, and there are eleven slots left (the white knights, two white pawns and one red pawn have been taken since this post) https://twitter.com/E35014/status/1593560944222740480?s=20&t=U9aLPHLHnXRvGenuhToDcQ
Commissions Closed
So I’ve decided to close comms for the time being. I think I need a little break to recharge a bit. If you’ve already got a commission paid for, don’t worry! It’s still going to be done. I just don’t want to add to my queue right now.
CRIMBO
As you can probably tell from the sudden art deluge, it is Christmas. I didn't get gifts to absolutely everyone I wanted this year - largely because there just wasn't time, but also because for some people I just couldn't think of a good idea (Thorvald, please don't send a letter bomb to my house I beg you). I don't want to give the impression that I don't care about people who didn't get art this year. I value all of my friends and followers. I know my writing's been spotty this year, but thanks so much for sticking with me anyway, and here's for a... well, a quieter 2022!

Wow, this election year is crazy, but I dunno if it's enough to completely dissolve the Republican party. It DEFINITELY needs a major reorganization. I hope this will kick the higher-ups into shape. Or even better, get some new higher-ups.
